Flowers by the Sea....

Let's face it..there isn't a designer, florist, photographer, coordinator, caterer, cake designer or stationer out there that doesn't LOVE to have their work published online or in print. I happen to be one of those vendors but honestly, what makes me really happy...is to see the couple's faces and to hear their voices when they realize all their hard work, patience and compromise has made it to the pages for all to see.
So when Deirdre and Jason's wedding was on Style Me Pretty, I thought that was the icing on the cake...Little did I know, that there was another surprise in store...Flower Magazine...Below is just an excerpt from this month's issue and you can find it on newsstands now..they are a bit hard to find but I have seen them recently at Target.
Designing and coordinating their wedding was like a dream..enthusiastic and loving couple and a vendor list to die for. Yumiko Fletcher, who owns Hana Floral Design, certainly outdid herself. We have been working together for at least 6 years now and she continues to amaze and inspire me every time. This wedding was no exception. The bouquet was filled with various shades of cream and pink dahlias and it made me fall in love all over again with the flower. I now see that similar bouquet all over the internet and print...she is a true trailblazer.
I certainly cannot forget the fabulous Adeline and Grace Photography team of Erica and Tiffany who captured the day perfectly, elegantly and gracefully. The images of the bouquet and the flower in Deirdre's hair are two of my all time favorite wedding images...
So bravo to the fabulous couple, the inspiring team and Miss Adrienne O'Conner who always rocks the escort card tables!!

I need to plant these in my garden!

I can just smell the gardenia..

Hillary and Jeff...Southern Charm/Modern Elegance

Each Guest was given a box of Kentucky Bourbon, and chocolates with a note that read...
Design by Miss Wesson of Chocolate Create Design

Horse and Buggy ride took the bride and groom, St. Mary's Church, Stonington Borough
Hillary and Jeff got married in Stonington, CT on one of the most gorgeous days of the season. It was the way I knew it would be for such a lovely bride, inside and out. I told Hillary that I wished I was from Kentucky after meeting her because of her elegance, southern charm, and delightful personality.

We blended Kentucky details and Southern Charm with Modern Elegance to create a truly design worthy affair. And had one spectacular group of vendors that came together to make it a day guests will always remember. Congratulations Hillary and Jeff!

Priam Vineyard Event... A Night to Celebrate

Wednesday night we held an Open House at Priam Vineyards in Colchester to introduce people in the industry to Connecticut's newest venue to host events. Together with some of our friends in the industry we collaborated with their talents to host an incredible evening on one of the last evenings of summer.

Linda Sample and her crew from A Thyme to Cook, wowed the guests with their creative presentation and designed a menu that was not only visually interesting but absolutely delicious! Incorporating seasonal ingredients and wines from Priam, the menu was a perfect fit. It is hard to pick a favorite but I have to say the pretzel balls and varieties of dipping mustard were amazing! They set up a small grill that toasted the pretzels to perfection. What a great idea for a party!

Jim Markow of Mystic Oyster provided Oysters that are grown locally, and were some of the best Oysters I have ever had. They were the perfect accent to Priam's wines. And that isn't all, Cato Corner, a dairy farm up the street from the winery had the most incredible collection of artisanal cheeses to sample.

Yumiko of Hana Floral Design accented the space with gorgeous flowers, Ryan Designs created the perfect lounge area in the tent on the upper lawn for guests to sit as we listened to an acoustic guitar performance by Vince Thompson. And Erica of Adeline and Grace and Denise of Photokinetic Photography captured the event for us behind the lens.

I am so excited about this new venue! Thank you to everyone that participated and that attended it was great to see so many friends in the industry.

Betsy Dunlap... The art of addressing the outter envelope

*Mosaic of Betsy Dunlap's Work

Recently I started working with a bride, Miss Gillian, that could easily pass for my sister. From the minute she said that she was a "yellow" bride we just totally hit it off. It was like we had known each other for years. I can't believe I have two brides this year that love yellow. I am so excited for the details of her wedding as everything is starting to come together. She is capturing the whole process and experience of planning her wedding on the pages of her very own blog, such a great idea and keepsake for her to look back on in years to come.

Her wedding is in October at the Boston Harbor Hotel, Erica of Adeline and Grace will capture the day in photography, DJ Renzo will be behind the music, Kelly from Beautiful Blooms will bring in pops of color in the flowers, Erin from Lucky Luxe is creating her save the dates and invitations, and the latest addition to our amazing team is Betsy Dunlap.

Betsy is a designer that I truly have been in awe of since the first time I saw one of her envelopes. Her calligraphy styles are unique, full of energy, really provoke emotion, and set the tone for what is inside.
She describes her style as "quirky, organic and never stuffy, it appears almost alive"

If I was to receive one of her envelopes addressed to me it would be one I would be sure to keep, truly a piece of art.

In celebration of the launch of True Event and Chocolate Creative Design and our love of collaboration, we have teamed up with Erica from Adeline and Grace Photography to offer this special promotion for the month of March. The three of us had such an amazing time working together on Deirdre and Jason's wedding (pictured above and on Style Me Pretty this month) we are hoping to collaborate many more times in 2010.

RI Wedding Show... Oceancliff and Rosecliff Mansions

I am going to be at the Oceancliff bridal show this weekend with Miss Erica from Adeline and Grace Photography. If you are looking for something to do I suggest taking a ride to Newport and visiting us at the Oceancliff. It is going to be quite the event!

After the bridal show tour the mansions, take a drive along the water, do a little shopping and definitely grab a cup of chowder. One place I will be sure to stop on my way out of town is the Newport Creamery, it is never too cold for ice cream!

Intimates... Boudier Shots and Valentines Day

You may have heard of one of the latest trends in wedding photography, Boudoir sessions. Boudoir photos are usually taken wearing a little, or nothing at all. They're hardly X-rated though, rather classic pinup-inspired pics, or what the pros call 'implied nudes.' They are a way to capture your intimate side in an artistic way. The perfect wedding gift, anniversary present or valentines day surprise.

Our friends at Adeline and Grace Photography recently partnered with Bonne Nuit European Lingerie & Loungewear. (If you book an intimate session with Adeline and Grace you receive 25% off your purchase) The perfect partnership!

Not only do intimate boudoir photos and lingerie go hand in hand for Valentines Day, but its a gift that keeps on giving throughout the year.

These ladies have really captured the essence of this new trend in their intimate sessions with clients and have shared some images below.

To find out more information on intimate sessions with Adeline & Grace check out their website. These ladies are not only incredibly talented but a ton of fun! You will just love Erica and Tiffany!
