Marathon Training in Full Swing

I am a huge runner! I love the way it feels to be on the open road, just me, my thoughts, and my ipod. I always loved it because it was the one time during the day that I could just be. I could push myself as hard as I possibly could, drag my feet along on tired days, or just run without a thought about my pace. I never really enjoyed running until I started to train for my first marathon a couple of years ago. Inspired by sister and her love of running I discovered that I don't know how I ever lived without it. Husband thinks I am a bit obsessed with my routine and schedule to train for marathons but for me it is a hobby, a stress reliever, and a good friend. Sister and I are training for the OBX marathon this November and are following Hal Higdon's schedule (he says if you stick with Hal you will finish, and that is 100% true) His programs are designed to get you to finish. We are on week 5 of an 18 week program.

New True Event Notecards Arrived!

I am soooooo excited to share with you my new note cards from the incredibly talented Monica at Paper Cut Industries. I just love getting packages, especially when they are this fabulous! I first fell in love Monica's feather design while browsing through the pages of Etsy and thought they would be just perfect to customize for my very own True Event stationary. I can't thank you enough Monica, they are amazing!

Etsy Find... Holey Notecards

It is amazing how simple the concept of poking holes in paper is, but I would never have thought to make it into an art as this Etsy designer has done. Brilliant! I think people have forgotten how special it is to receive a handwritten card for a birthday, special occasion or just because. It is so easy now with e-cards, and always being online to just skip it all together. These cards make me want to send out a note just because... they are so interesting and beautiful and put into a small frame turn into a piece of art.

"While I love printed cards, they are not my forte. I like to make cards that play with light and dimension, that become interesting objects even without the words inside. So I've cut them. I've woven them. I've glued them. I've dyed them. I've sewn them. I've stamped them. I'm currently poking holes in them. The only things they've had in common is that they all started as plain white cards."
