Where we started, with the selection of colors
Where we ended up, Gillian's Inspiration BoardWhen Lucinda and I first start working with a client it is so important to tap into the creative design process, to pull pieces of inspiration from their homes, magazines, blogs, websites, fashion, nature... inspiration is everywhere, it is our job to help clients go through this creative journey. Once the process begins sometimes it is hard to turn it off, as we are often attracted to many different styles in fashion and design, colors, hobbies, etc. I don't think I could ever design my own wedding again because I would find it impossible to decide which direction to go. However, as we start to fine tune the details and build an inspiration board, watching the event details come together is such a fun process, and a true collaboration.
You will see in the above boards for one of my brides, Miss Gillian, we started with a color board, but as we began to really personalize the event with things that are meaningful to her and her fiance the event details took on new meaning. Gillian and Nate love to ski and have spent many vacations together doing so, however they live and work in Boston and their wedding is at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Weaving in this detail was super important to them without making it feel too much like a wedding at a ski lodge. It is the combination of these details that will make the event truly unique to them and leave guests talking about the event long after it is over.
This past Sunday some of the areas best vendors came together to participate in our first bridal showcase, Weddings the Creative Process. A twist on the traditional bridal show. Vendors spoke throughout the day in intimate workshops about the creative process in planning a wedding, and creating a sensory experience for your guests. While not sitting in on a workshop guests had the opportunity to walk around the lower level of the winery and meet all of the vendors including Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty, our special guest speaker. As a bride you had the opportunity to plan your entire wedding in one afternoon amongst the amazing collection of talent that came together. It was a true collaboration! The air was filled with such an incredible energy throughout the day despite the rain.
The event also helped to raise money, 100% of ticket sales, for a cause that is near and dear to our hearts, the Life is Good Kids Foundation. Everyone is already asking when the next one will be. Stay tuned!

Gourmet Galley displayed individual crudites, and cheese and fruit plates on a modern shelf, using vintage china to create a new spin on the traditional harvest table. Presentation was phenominal! 
Sugarbelle created mini cupcakes in the colors of Style Me Pretty, Yum!

I think we are all still recovering after yesterday's event that Lucinda and I hosted with Yumiko of Hana Floral Design, with some of the best, most creative people in the industry. The room was just buzzing with energy, and people from all over the state came to experience the all day workshops, we even had an event planner that flew in all the way from Nebraska to meet Abby Larson of Style me pretty. It was amazing to see the event come together with so much talent all in one room. Truly a unique event! People are already buzzing about when the next one will be.
I just got a link to hundreds of images from the uber talented Anna Sawin and promise to post more tomorrow with a complete recap of the event. But leave you with this image until then. Happy Monday!
We have put together an incredible schedule of workshops that will run throughout the day on Sunday, from 1-5pm at Saltwater Farm Vineyard. Workshops will be limited to 25 people and will be filled on a first come basis. When you arrive we will have sign up sheets for the workshops and you can sign up for the ones you wish to attend, you will not be limited to the number of workshops you can register for.
While you are not participating in a workshop you will have the chance walk around on the lower level and meet the other vendors and view and taste samples of their work at their tables.

Abby and her wedding blog, Style Me Pretty, with its inception quickly became a daily read of inspiration not only for us but for brides across the world. We are so honored to have her collaborate with us on this event and to host her in CT.
