I heart candy corn...
While searching for fabric online today, by the way I finally picked fabric for my office chair project and my vintage couch, only took me two months, can't wait to share once they are complete! And while I was searching I came across this image that made my mouth drool. Did I mention how much I love candy corn?! Think it would be fun to design a wedding around this color story. Stay tuned...
Friday Wine Tasting on Monday... Eos Zinfandel
Wine of the Week...
Eos Zinfandel
$13.99
Friday night husband and I headed to Essex to one of my favorite spots, the Gris Wine Bar at the historic Griswold Inn. Every time I go I try to sample a new wine and on Friday I discovered Eos Zinfandel. It was the perfect wine for a cold fall night in Connecticut. A little bit more than my under $10 favorites but one I would recommend.
Tasting Notes:
The 2007 Zinfandel aromas fill the senses with the fruit of plum and dark berry pie with graham cracker crust. The aromas carry over onto the palate and are balanced by the acidic fruits of black cherry, raspberry and strawberry. This wine finishes out with floral aromatics, subtle hints of oak, dry dusty earth, fresh tobacco that lingers and spices of white pepper and sage.

Hillary and Jeff...Southern Charm/Modern Elegance
Hillary and Jeff got married in Stonington, CT on one of the most gorgeous days of the season. It was the way I knew it would be for such a lovely bride, inside and out. I told Hillary that I wished I was from Kentucky after meeting her because of her elegance, southern charm, and delightful personality.
We blended Kentucky details and Southern Charm with Modern Elegance to create a truly design worthy affair. And had one spectacular group of vendors that came together to make it a day guests will always remember. Congratulations Hillary and Jeff!

Guest Blogger... Local Lovelies
I was so excited when I was asked by Kirei Nest to be a guest blogger featured in her "local lovelies" section on Connecticut. What a great concept and a gorgeous blog! When I first discovered her site I got lost in the many pages of inspiration and great ideas. Nicole features "local lovelies" every Thursday and has people from across the country suggest favorites from their home state, to include in a guest welcome basket for a wedding or to welcome new neighbors. Check out my list of favorites on her blog.

Sunshine Prints... New Studio
I know I have promised photos of my new studio space and I promise they are coming. September is my favorite month of the year and also when everyone is getting married this year, so unfortunately the progress in the studio has come to a slight halt.
In the meantime I have been searching for prints to hang up and have found some fabulous images, just hope I will have enough wall space.

The perfect dress..
Designers find inspiration in some of the most unusual places. It can be a piece of fabric, food, nature, a smell, a person and even a song. The most flattering and meaningful inspiration is when we find it through other designers work. I have been coveting, oohing and ahhing over this dress for about a year. Designed by Sarah Seven from Portland, Oregon, I have been trying to save my pennies for this particular one. But then it hit me...where would I wear this fabulous dress? And I knew the answer right away. It would have to be at an event designed by the super fabulous Lisa Vorce. Sarah and I have been inspired by her work for years. She knows how to use color to create a mood that is both romantic and timeless. She has taught us how to think outside the box and for that we are eternally grateful.
So thank you Lisa Vorce and Sarah Seven for inspiring us.
Vintage, modern, subtle, strong...Sarah Seven gets it right and knows how to design for a woman's body!
All of Lisa's events are inspiring, so a combination of a few of them would create the perfect event that I could wear my perfect little dress to.
