A Break in the Clouds...
On Saturday I was invited to attend a premiere viewing of the documentary, A Break in the Clouds, at the Boston International Film Festival.
A Break in the Clouds is a deeply moving documentary on Project Joy, an amazing non profit that the Life is Good Kids Foundation has been supporting for many years. The film captures Project Joy's extensive work on the Mississippi Gulf Coast helping children traumatized by Hurricane Katrina.
It was incredibly special for me to be able to attend the viewing of the film the day before Team True Event set out to run our first race together, to raise money for Project Joy and the Life is Good Kids Foundation. It made running in the cold rain for over 13 miles extra special knowing that our efforts would be supporting such an incredible organization. I encourage all of you to learn more about the work of Project Joy, they truly are amazing!

Running for a Cause... Life is Good Kids Foundation

Most of you know about my great love of running and all the reasons it is such a huge part of my day-to-day. However, I recently started thinking that I would like to run for something bigger than myself, a reason that would benefit hundreds of people, not just one. A cause that is near and dear to me is the Life is Good Kids Foundation. The Life is Good Kids Foundation supports extraordinary charities that create a lasting positive impact on children facing unfair challenges and life-threatening conditions, including the trauma of violence, poverty, and loss. So, this April 25th, I am running the first of a couple of big races this year for the kids. April 25th is the Nutmeg half marathon in Washington, CT. Not only do we hope for a great team of runners to join us in this mission, but we love the fans and the cheers along the way! In order to join Team True Event you don't have to be a runner, just someone with a passion for helping others. We hope you will join us in supporting this incredible organization.

Life is Good...

Life is Good is having a party, a HUGE party! June 20th, on the Boston Common in Boston. This is going to be a truly amazing event! All funds raised through donations on site and all profits from the sale of Life is good merchandise at the event will be directed via the Life is good Kids Foundation to Project Joy, a grassroots nonprofit that uses the power of play to heal and strengthen children whose lives have been deeply impacted by fear and trauma.
