Turning 13, a Very Special Birthday Party!

I recently had the opportunity to work with Josh Friedman of Elan Artists in planning the most spectacular 13th birthday party in Greenwich. Kids were treated to a night of entertainment from the minute they arrived. Greeted by a rock wall, and bungee jump, jousting, boxing, craft stations (where they could design their own football jersey or flip flops) basketball hoops, and the most incredible surprise "stomp" style performance that set the tone for a night of dancing. Eric Visa was a master behind the table spinning the hottest music, mixed in with the lead singer of the Hudson Project, and electric violins from three of the most talented ladies I know. Music rocked well into the night! It was a celebration I am sure they will never forget.

Peter Callahan and his incredible team were amazing, the way the food is presented is always a wow! They are true masters in the art of food. I especially loved the mini fish tacos and tiny patron margarita shooters that were passed to the adults.
Brilliant!

Now we are Seven....

I should have known what I was in for when you were in utero. You loved to start kicking me right as I drifted off to sleep. You absolutely loved watermelon (still do). You loved to dance to cajun music and you decided to break the rules and come out feet first like a cliff jumper.

You taught me patience, pure sweet sweet love, how to laugh at myself, forgiveness and most importantly, how to run in 3 inch heels.

You amaze me every day, you test my patience every day and you tell me " I love you so much Mama, you are so beautiful" three times a day. I am the luckiest mom in the world.

You are now seven. The world is your oyster. No more free ski lift tickets or free airline seats..you are not a baby anymore...

So happy happy birthday my sweet prince....Today is a day of celebration and lots and lots of chocolate cupcakes with swirls and twirls of chocolate frosting...Of best wishes of being such a big boy and then....falling asleep in my arms..just like in the beginning..you and me..me and you...
I love you little monster

Bacon Typeface created by Wendy Xu.

My husband should be a professional bacon cooker. In the Wesson household, we just adore bacon!
Tomorrow he turns one year older.

Birthday Inspiration...Paper Flowers

Image Via Brides.com

This is the color story for an upcoming birthday party Lucinda and I are collaborating on for a client. I have been having so much fun working with him in planning all of the details for a full weekend of events and Lucinda is designing all of the paper pieces to coordinate. From the invitation to the menus, and escort cards, every detail is just so. The colors are fun and full of energy, the perfect summer palate for a celebration.

Using the above image for inspiration Lucinda discovered a super talented lady that makes custom paper flowers, and is located right here in Connecticut, St. Jude's Creations. She has designed for us paper poppies that we will be using to accent the escort cards and for guests to take as a favor. They are just perfect!
I'm already thinking of a million different ways to incorporate her beautiful creations into other upcoming events.
Stay tuned for more fabulous details from this weekend affair!
