Tuesdays are for Mood Boards... Winter in the Dessert

I was recently asked to collaborate on an upcoming photo shoot with the uber talented Carla Ten Eyck, using this mood board as our inspiration. I just love the contrasting details of natural elements found in the desert (succulents, cactus, sand) with white fur, sequence and silver. A winter inspired shoot photographed in the desert.

The photo shoot is taking place on the White Sands National Park in New Mexico, which is truly one of the most breathtaking places in the United States. While studying abroad in college I traveled to Fraiser Island in Australia which reminds me so much of this spot in New Mexico. It is the most amazing feeling to be surrounded by miles and miles of the whitest sand you have ever seen. This venue is a photographer's dream! I am so excited to be a part of such an exciting shoot and to be teaming up with a crew of extremely talented people to bring this inspiration board to reality. Stay Tuned for more details!

Tuesdays are for Mood Boards.....Pisces..

Ok so I married a fish. He might not have Michael Phelps speed, but he certainly has the most beautiful stroke that I have ever seen and glides through the water like a dolphin. He also happens to be a Pisces and most recently has become obsessed, along with our monster, with saltwater fishing. Needless to say, with the help of his Mom, our house is filled with subtle reminders of our big fish.

For today's mood board, I have shaken things up a bit. I have been scouring the internet for some rather unique objects to add to our collection. I was inspired by the fish tiles that flank the walls in our monster's bathroom (probably my favorite room in the house and also the only one that's really finished). Our house primarily consists of these "water" colors, so as to constantly remind us of the ocean that we love so much.

So Happy Birthday fish man. Spring will be here soon enough.

Silver shoes...Therapy or bling? Or is bling therapy?

I love shoes. There I said it. I adore shoes. They make me smile. Shoes can make or break an outfit in a second. I am no Imelda Marcus by any means, but, I certainly can't turn down a pair of sparkly, sexy heels. Look at Dorothy, she had some seriously rocking good shoes (whom I might add, quickly grabbed them off the witch she had just killed... like a DSW commercial). Those shoes were so powerful that they had the ability to take her home. Lately, I realized we all have wicked witches and warlocks of the west or east in our lives, who come with their own personal evil flying monkeys. But, I found that if you have a little bit of bling on your feet, everything seems to just melt away...Therapy or shoes...That is the question.
